Google Is the Undisputed Champion of the Mobile Search Arena
Google delivers a left hook to Yahoo and a knock-out punch to Bing.
We all know that Google still remains the leader when it comes to traditional search market. However, they seemed to have conquered the mobile search domain as well.
In the recently published Opera State of the Mobile Report, Google now accounts for 9% (US figures) of all the page views on the mobile web domain.
Its nearest rival, Yahoo accounts for just 4.3%, which is a respectable figure, but still nowhere close to the competition.
Then there’s Bing. Opera had to place an extra decimal point to the right in order to quantify Bing’s market share, which stands at a lowly 0.03%
However, Google can’t sit back and rest on its laurels just yet. There are still areas where Google lags behind. Markets like Russia and China still offer a challenge due to local search leaders like Yandex and Baidu.
